This fast-paced, hands-on course is your introduction to turning research into a real-world venture. In just three hours, you’ll explore what makes startup ideas work, how to spot real customer pain, and how to communicate your solution clearly. You’ll get simple tools to sketch out your business model, test your assumptions, and take the first steps toward building traction without needing a finished product. Whether or not you plan to start a company now, you’ll leave with new ways to think about impact, clear next steps, and the confidence to move from idea to action.

Early career researchers of all disciplines with an interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. As a prerequisite, participants should have an idea for a startup by the beginning of the workshop.
This workshop is part of the "Entrepreneurial skills" series, which is organized in collaboration with the UZH Innovation Hub.
A certificate of participation will be issued for each workshop. When four or more certificates are achieved, participants may request a certificate for "Entrepreneurial skills" issued by the Graduate Campus and Innovation Hub.
1 ECTS Credit will be awarded (on request) to PhD candidates who have completed four or more workshops of the "Entrepreneurial skills" series.
